A day of ball, Bloody Mary’s and home runs!

On Saturday, October 22^nd, 2016, thirteen of our ‘BKDers’ went to play in the “13th Annual CPA Softball Tournament” put on by the Fort Worth Society of CPAs at the Randol Mill Park in Arlington, TX.

All of the players arrived, suited up and on time, ready to hit the ball and win! Our BKD team Captain Paul Russell was on full energy power and so was the rest of the team!

At 8:45am BKD team “Kicking Ass..ets & Taking Names» kicked off the day with a big 9-8 win over the “Rylander, Clay & Opitz”! I mean our name speaks for itself, right!? BKD headed into the second game confident, with a good start. Ready to show Whitley Penn, LLP that we weren’t just another name. We did just that, with a score of 14-6, I mean come on… we were on a roll! Not to mention, we had great support from the stands, no one could stop us!

Well… This is where things become a bit of a blur. After a long 2 hour wait, a few Bloody Mary’s & Mimosa’s, the third game started with even more excitement. Now it’s bracket time, to our surprise, it was against the same team we played first, “Rylander, Clay & Opitz”.  Somehow, they seemed to have had some extra couching in the prior couple of hours, because this time they beat us 6-12. Yikes!

We might not have taken home the trophy this year but we had a great time! We certainly look forward to next year’s tournament!!

Personalty it was a great experience, differently something I would enjoy doing again!
